Will lights within my ceiling cause any problems when using insulated plasterboard?
Putting lights into your ceilings shouldn’t cause any problems concerning your insulation. Normally a circular disc drill bit would be used to drill through the insulation and plasterboard, and then the light will be brought down through the insulation. When fitting a light you must ensure that there is enough space around it, as the bulb could emit a significant amount of heat. You should always refer to the lighting manufacturers guide on clearance when installing into an insulation board.
