Final Friday Five

Final Friday Five - Shed of the Year

Another month has passed, which means it’s time for our Final Friday Five. Here’s our pick of the bunch for May.

Hereford & Worcester Chamber Awards

First off – we’re delighted to be a finalist in the ‘Excellence in Innovation’ category at this year’s Hereford and Worcestershire Chamber Business Awards.

The Chamber’s 15th annual awards evening takes place on Thursday 9th June 2016. If we’re lucky enough to have won, we’ll let you know via our Twitter page – keep your eyes peeled!

Government gets its wish as zero-carbon homes policy is ‘sent to the scrap heap’

You will recall that in last month’s Final Friday Five we had high hopes for the return of the Zero Carbon Homes policy to the Housing and Planning Bill.

Unfortunately, the government decided against its reintroduction, therefore shutting the door on the policy once and for all.

Instead, it has introduced a 12 month review of the energy efficiency standard for new homes in building regulations – which, though not what we had hoped for, is better than nothing.

Designology Exhibition

This one’s neither an article nor a blog post but we simply couldn’t leave it off the list.

Running until 20th July 2016, Designology looks at the “fascinating designs and processes behind London’s moving metropolis,” exploring architecture, engineering and urban environment from the past, through the present, and into the future.

Although we’re based in rural Herefordshire, we’d certainly be interested in seeing how the designs behind our capital’s transport system have evolved through the years alongside the City itself.

‘How To’ Guides

Can you believe it’s the last bank holiday weekend until August? No, neither can we!

What better to do on this long weekend than a bit of DIY?

Our ‘How To’ guides might just come in handy – here’s a few of the most popular:

Shed of the Year 2016

With so much design and imagination having gone into these, we’re finding it hard to pick our favourite!

Which one is yours? You can vote for it here.
